Best MLB (baseball) Franchises of the 2000's
This Best Of list is about the three best Major League Baseball teams between 2000 to 2009. Each MLB Franchise is judged on playoff success, World Series championships and regular season performances throughout the entire decade. Don't worry Cleveland fans, your Indians are not on the list.
Boston Red Sox
As a New Yorker and a die-hard Yankee fan, it hurts so much to admit this. The Red Sox won two World Series Titles. They had the greatest playoff run in MLB history in 2004 after coming back from a 3-0 hold and beating the Yankees.
New York Yankees
The Yankees won the first World Series of the decade and the last one. They appeared in one more World Series in 2003 but lost to the Florida Marlins. They kept competitive by signing huge free agents including the infamous Alex Rodriguez.
St. Louis Cardinals
Led by the powerful hitting of Albert Pujols, the Saint Louis Cardinals won the World Series title in 2006. They had deep playoff runs several years in the decade including losing to the Boston Red Sox in the World Series in 2004.
The Boston Red Sox reversed the Curse of the Bambino when they won their first World Series title since 1918. Their dominace throughout the decade made them the best of the MLB during this decade. It still hurts as a Yankee fan
