Best Grand Theft Auto games

This Best of list focuses on the top three entries of the best selling video game franchise of all time. There has been ten full games in the series and four standalone expansion packs. The best three games are judge by gameplay, innovation, storyline and sales.

  1. Grand Theft Auto V

    It took over six years for its release, but it was worth the wait. GTAV became the biggest entertainment release of all time with sales of $800 in its first day. In less than three months, over 150 million units has sold. The introduction of playing between three characters has expanded the story mode greatly. The revamp online multiplayer has been successful and rivaled Call of Duty.

  2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

    This was the last full game entry for the PS2. San Andreas was innovative with the expansion of the size of the world. San Andreas was a breath of fresh air because it took game out west to Southern California. Plus, who does not love having Samuel L. Jackson as a dirty cop.

  3. Grand Theft Auto III

    This is the game that started it all. Grand Theft Auto III is the most innovative video game of the last 20 years. While the gameplay has dramatically imporved since then, every open world game expands of the foundation that this game created.

Grand Theft Auto V is the best open world game ever. The innovative game play will be relevant for many years to come. The storyline is far more creative than any blockbuster movie. The multiplay experience has made the video game that much greater.
