My 5 Favorite Makeup Products

Published: November 19, 2013

Some people don't know how to get started with makeup, so I thought I'd share a list of my favorite products. Included are links to all of the products, so you can check them out yourself, as well as a photo of a recent look I did with some of these items.. These are tried and true products that I couldn't live without. I will tell you individually why I like them, as they all have to perform different jobs.

  1. CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara

This mascara is perfect in every way in my eyes. It lengthens, defines, and doesn't clump. Clumping is an issue a lot of mascaras have, but you can count on this one not to! It gives just enough volume for me, but doesn't look heavy or fake. It comes in washable and water resistant forumlas. All in all, a great buy! CoverGirl Clump Crusher

  2. Revlon Colorstay Foundation

This is the only foundation that seems to want to stay on my face. I have oily skin, and well, most foundations just tend to slide their way off by the end of the day. It comes in formulas for oily/combo or normal/dry skin. The only complaint I really have is that the shade range isn't the best, but if you can find your shade, get it! It can catch on dry spots, though, so moisturize! You should be doing that anyway. Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Combo/Oily Formula

  3. Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette

Brace yourselves for the mother of all palettes. This baby packs a punch with 252 richly pigmented shades of shadow. The palette features the brand's whole range of Hot Pot single shadows in mini form. It is a staple in my collection, and I actually use one of the browns to do my brows. It really is a steal when you realize how much you are getting. The shadows are about the size of a dime, but you don't need much! Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Palette

  4. NARS Orgasm Blush

I know what you're thinking, that price tag! Yes, it's an expensive product, one I'd never imagined would make it into my collection. But a friend sent me a mini size of it and I fell in love. It's the perfect peachy color, and it just blends into my face like it was supposed to be there. There are similar blushes out there, such as SLEEK Rose Gold and ELF Saint Lucia, which if you're on a budget, would be great choices! NARS Orgasm Blush

  5. MAC Vegas Volt lipstick

This was my first mid/high end lipstick and remains my favorite. It has a creamy texture, a gorgeous coral color, and is long wearing. If you love bright, colorful lips, this is definitely a shade you should check out. Mine has very little left, and I will definitely repurchase it when I run out. It's a keeper! MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick

If I had to pick a winner from this list, it would definitely be the Revlon Colorstay foundation. It is the only one I've found that works for me in every way. I can't live without it. I hope you learned something new from this list and maybe try some of these products out in the future!
