Best Fat burning tips so you work smart not hard

We are all looking for the quick fix or ways to shed the pounds without spending hours in the gym. The one thing I have seen proven time and time again is that you loose weight in the kitchen and get fit in the gym. You can never out do bad eating habits.

  1. Eat small meals every 3 hours while awake.

    By keeping small amounts in your stomach you will ever be starving. When you are starving you make bad choices and usually go for the quickest food possible and that usually isn't the best choice.

  2. Small meals should include a fruit/veggie, protein and complex carb.

    By making a complete meal your insulin levels stay balanced. It is important to not spike your blood sugar because those fluctuations affect your appetite and mood. By having the three items your body breaks it down and absorbs it all much better and keeps you full for longer.

  3. Egg whites and grilled chicken breast are your new best friend.

    They are both excellent sources of high protein that the body loves. It keeps the metabolism fired up for long periods of time. Especially effective at dropping the body fat around the belly.

  4. Always choose weights over cardio

    Look around the weight room are the people with the best physique the ones on the treadmill or elliptical or are they the ones hitting the weights. Muscle burns fat! The more muscle you have the faster your metabolism will become.

  5. Take weekly measurements with a measuring tape don't rely on your scale

    Sometimes as you are burning fat and building muscle your scale may be discouraging. The best way to measure your success is by measuring the following areas each week:

    1. Upper arm

    2. Upper chest

    3. Middle chest

    4. Upper waist (at bellybutton)

    5. Hips (wides part of the body)

    6. Thighs upper part 

    7. Middle thigh

    8. Calf

  6. Track all of your food

    Getting an app like myfitness pal is a great tool. It keeps you accountable and also aware of the calories you are putting in your mouth. Sometimes we eat without really thinking. This brings it to the front of your minds. The best way to make a change is to change the way you think.

  7. Throw out the junk food

    If it is around you are more likely to consume it in a moment of weakness. Replace your junk food with healthy foods that you actually enjoy. 

These are just a few things that have helped myself as well as others to burn the fat without spending hours upon hours at the gym to see very little results. They are all simple tips. Nothing new and not rocket science but if you try these things out for even a week I think you will be surprised in the changes in your body.
