Best Buys For Baby

Published: January 18, 2015

Trying to prepare for a baby on the way is one of the most stressful and fun things you can do as an expectant mother. Especially if you're a first mother and all of this is new to you or you haven't had a baby in a while and now there's all these new things out that you don't know if they will be usefull or be thrown out as soon as you first try to use it. The problem with all this is the last thing you want to do is waste money on horrible products when baby's are so expensive, you'll need every penny you can get. I'm going to skip over obvious things such as a car seat and skip straight into what you will definitely want to make your job as a mother a lot easier and cheaper.

  1. The Dex Baby Womb Sounds Bear

They don't call this the AudioPacifier for nothing!! This simple little stuffed bear will save you many attempts of trying to get a fussy baby to sleep. It projects sounds of the womb to remind them of when they were still in your tummy, which seems like a much less stressful place than the real world to a baby and it will calm them to sleep. It has straps so you can attach it high up on the bars of a crib so you don't have to worry about keeping it in the crib with them where they could possibly suffocate. The bear also automatically turns off after an hour so you don't have to worry about turning it off or changing a dead battery- it's also just enough time to soothe your baby to sleep.

  2. Johnson's Nighttime Baby Bath

Night time baths are no fun, baby's tend to have a hard time sleeping afterwards. But this product will really help you out!! It will clean your baby and leaving them smelling really nice with the same lavender scent that's soothing your baby and making them sleepy. Johnson's Bath Time Set is something else you should look into, it has everything you'll need for baths and even diaper rash cream and other items you'll need a long the way.

  3. A Crib That Converts Into A Toddler And Full-Sized Bed

A crib, one of the first things expectant moms go to look at, and then wish they didn't!! The prices on cribs are honestly terrifying, and you have to wonder how they can charge so much for a little bit of wood working skill, and usually don't even include a mattress with it. so save yourself some cash, and get a crib that converts into a toddler and full sized bed and it will save you so much money as they get older. The one I got was at Walmart for only $150!! There's so many cribs I saw that were for $400-$500 and those won't last you very long at all truthfully. There's so many expensive things your baby will outgrow quicker than you'll think, don't make one of those be what is most likely THE most expensive thing you bought.

  4. Pack N' Play

I don't mean just any playpen, I mean the one that comes with a changing pad and an internal bassinet (removeable) so they can sleep in it until they're too big and then they can use it as a playpen. You can also use the bassinet as a little activity matt if you take it out. A lot of the ones I've seen also come with a bassinet outside of them so your baby has a portable one you can have on your bed with you so you can play or just relax with them by you. They come with sidepockets on them for diaperso and extra things you'll need around. The one I have even plays music!! I'll be honest, I wasn't going to bother getting a crib when I saw these because babies outgrow them so quickly and they're so expensive, and then I saw the one that converts into bigger beds and had to have both!!

  5. Baby Brezza Formula Maker

Even if you play to breastfeed, a lot of women can't help being unsuccesful trying or end up stopping for sometimea even medical reasons, and sometimes babies just refuse to nurse. This beauty you put the formula and water in, you put the bottle under the dispenser, press a button and the bottle is made!! It even makes sure the water isn't not too hot or too cold, and it mixes the water and formula evenly into the bottle. Sometimes you can make formula too watery or with too much formula and either way you could make your baby sick and they won't be getting the right ammount of nutrients. And let's admit it, waking up in the middle of the night, pressing a button and presto you have a bottle made is every mothers dream.

  6. Narrowing Down What Clothes To Get

Sorry this isn't exactly a product, but you have no idea how much money you'll save thinking about this. I can't stress enough, DON'T GO OFF YOUR BABIES AGE when buying clothes. Like thinking "I should get plenty of coats in 6-9 because when they're seven months old it'll be December. You literally just can't do that. You have no idea the factors that play into them outgrowing clothes. Such as, if your baby has tall parents or even a tall parent don't get many things with legs attached if you expect them to last long. If you're a high risk for having a preemie that's literally the only time I would recommend getting (obviously preemie) and newborn clothes. Newborn clothes are a waste, most children will be out of them in a couple days, no exaggerating!! If you want the honest truth, get some warm clothes  in every size because weather is unpredictable, but don't get the major things until you see how big your baby is and how fast it outgrows things. Go off the percentile you find out at the anomaly scan!! My baby was in the 85th percentile at 19 weeks and 4 days when most peoples babies are in the 50th at 32 weeks!! Needless to say, I didn't buy many small sizes!! Also, don't get more than one pack of Newborn diapers while you're pregnant. They outgrow those fast to, just buy more later if you will still need them later.

  7. 3 in 1 Swing 'n Rocker

I have a FisherPrice one that has 6 swing speeds, 16 songs and other sounds and is an infant seat, rocker, swing and even can be as they grow to toddlers!! Look around for something similar that you like. Babies will love all the different things it can do, and so will you. Especially if mommy needs a little break, you can just sit them in their swing and rock them right off to sleep or play with them.

  8. Humidifier

Babies and young children are sensitive, it's important to try to keep moisture in the air they're in at all times, especially during Winter. It will help clear up their sinuses as well so you don't have to worry about your little boy or girls nose bleeding or getting stuffy!!

  9. Zoli Baby Nail Buffer/Trimmer

I can't exactly remember what it's called, but I'm sure you'll find what I'm talking about if you look that up. Baby's nails are soft and  impossible to trim when they're a newborn, and even when you finally can trim them you may be hesitant to do so because it would be horrible if something went wrong while doing so. This will buff your baby's nails shorter so you literally have nothing to worry about. You couldn't hurt anyone with it if you tried to, and it even had inserts for every month so it's made extremely simple for you.

  10. Infant-To-Toddler Baby Bath

This will come in handy because it's dangerous and pretty gross to bathe your baby in a sink or bathtub and pretty uncomfortable for baby. They even have ones with shower heads if that would ever be an issue for you.

Honestly, I don't think any of the items on this list can be seen as "the best" it depends on the baby they'd be used for. I guess universally the convertable crib would definitely be up there. As a type of item, clearly my favorite would be items that can convert into other things. It saves so much money and space and when your baby needs the next size of whatever it is it will be right there waiting for them. I couldn't imagine buying the same thing over again and again just in a bigger sizes. Might as well buy a new house to store the old things in while you're at it. I hope this helps some of you, because I don't know what I would have done without these products.
