The 5 Best Restaurants of Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach Area

Published: November 15, 2013

We fell in love with the area of Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach seashore after my mother became a snowbird in this area in the mid 80's.  Our annual vacations soon turned into twice a year and every departure and return to the East Coast became more difficult so finally when the opportunity arose we said goodbye to the snow and cold of New England and made our way South permanently.  I will have to confess that good food is often more of a priority than the beach for us so in all this time we have had ample experience in the local fare.  Below is a list of the 5 best food establishments we have found.

  1. Thai Thai III Restaurant & Sushi

If you are in the mood for sushi, Thai or Japanese cuisine you cannot go wrong with Thai Thai III.  The sushi is the best on the beach.  The prices tend to reflect that but it's well worth the money spent.  All of the rolls (too numerous to name or have a favorite) we have tried have been fantastic, beautifully presented and always the freshest ingredients.  If you want to opt for something other than sushi, then you cannot go wrong with the chicken teriyaki or Unagi Don.  If you prefer Thai, I can tell you that their Chicken Pad Thai is also the best I have had hands down.  You really cannot go wrong here, it's a popular place so sometimes the seating can seem a little cramped and the service a little slow but it's all well worth it when the food arrives.  You won't regret it. Thai Thai III

  2. La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant

If you want really good Mexican food, this is the place to come.  The servers are immediately at your table with the best fresh chips and salsa.  I have tried almost every entree on their menu and it is tough to pick a favorite but the Chicken Super Burrito would probably win out.  The burrito is huge and then topped with fresh homemade guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce and cheese.  It is stuffed with all white shredded meat and oozing with melted jack cheese, also rice and beans on the side.  You find yourself fighting with your stomach in trying to finish every last bite.  The best part is that you cannot beat their prices, definitely the best value on the beach!

  3. Rusty's Seafood & Oyster Bar

If you want a great place to sit on the water, watch the cruise ships depart out of the Port or to catch a beautiful sunset then Rusty's deck is the place.  Although there are other restaurants close by, Rusty stands above their competition with their comfortable seating, refreshing cocktails, music and good food.

  4. Florida's Seafood Bar & Grill

Florida's Seafood Bar & Grill is a mandatory stop.  Always busy and offering the freshest seafood you will enjoy your dining experience.  We bring all of our out of town guests here and have never heard a complaint. A fun family friendly establishment in Cocoa Beach.

  5. Yen Yen Chinese Restaurant

The best Chinese food in the area!  You know this place isn't your standard Chinese establishment once you are seated.  White tablecloths adorn the tables and you are greeted with servers dressed in tuxedo vests and white shirts.  The hot and sour soup is awesome, I haven't found any better.  The Shelly's chicken and orange beef are our favorites but there are many options on the menu.  Although their prices are higher than normal Chinese fare, the tastes and service make it worth the trip.

Although it is tough to choose a favorite from the list above I think that La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant grabs that title.  The value sets this place apart, you can't beat their prices.  So if you are on a budget then this place will be your favorite too.  However all of the restaurants listed will guarantee you a great meal and enjoyable experience, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
