Best Drugstore Makeup Products
At the drugstore, one can spend literally hours browsing the cosmetics aisles. With so many brands and products to choose from, it can be hard to figure out which one to try. As a self-proclaimed drugstore makeup junkie, I've compiled a Best of Drugstore Makeup list to help other cosmetic fanatics discover some drugstore gems.
Maybelline "The Nudes" Palette
Before rushing out to buy one of the $50 NAKED palettes, I highly recommend giving this drugstore palette a try. I bought this on a whim a few weeks ago when I came across it at Walmart. I was instantly intrigued - it features a good selection of both matte and shimmery neutral shades, and they are highly pigmented, even without primer. Compared to other more high-end palettes with similar shades, The Nudes is practically a steal at $9.99!
L'Oreal Paris True Match Mineral Pressed Powder
I love, love, love this pressed powder. It provides a matte but not flat finish that lasts longer than other drugstore powders I've tried over the years (Rimmel Stay Matte, I'm looking at you). I usually break out with mineral makeup (I have eczema), but this powder is gentle while providing good coverage. I highly recommend giving this powder a try. It comes in a variety of shades as well.
Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
This stuff is amazing. I reach for it more often than my Benefit They're Real mascara. You can usually find Jordana at Walgreens, it's a real steal at $2.99. This mascara doesn't ever flake or clump on my lashes and even without a lash curler I get volumized, thicker looking lashes. Definite HG item for me.
Nyx Matte Lip Cream in "Stockholm"
"Stockholm" seems like one of those universal MLBB (my lips but better) colors. It dries matte but doesn't dry out the lips, and the color is just gorgeous. NYX is also cruelty-free (some items are vegan) and has a great range of high quality makeup products.
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation
Revlon Colorstay is considered by many to be a drugstore favorite, and it's not hard to see why. After letting moisturizer and primer set on my super dry face, I buff in this liquid foundation and it leaves a smooth, matte finish. It's medium-to-full coverage, sets quickly, and stays put after you put on some pressed powder. Excellent value for the price.
L'Oreal Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner
I used to hate using liquid eyeliner because I'm very clumsy when it comes to handling brushes, so I avoided using them while envying other girls' perfect cat-eyes. I stumbled upon this eyeliner, it's like a marker-pen, makes liquid eyeliner super easy and addicting. It doesn't flake, it's highly pigmented so for those of you who like a rich inky-black liner, I recommend trying this out.
Garnier BB Cream
This is one of my favorite BB creams that I've tried, and it's especially good for a drugstore foundation in general, particularly if you have dry or combination-type skin. It evens out the skin tone and provides medium coverage without being too oily. I hardly have to use concealer whenever I use this BB cream.
NYC Bronzer in Sunny
A super affordable, matte, neutral-color bronzer that doesn't make you look orange or splotchy. Works for different skin tones!
Covergirl Outlast Lip Colors
Love this line of lip colors! It's the only Covergirl product I consistently purchase, in different colors. They have a wide range of colors and they truly do stay on throughout the day - I can vouch for this as I've worn some of the darkest shades in the line through eating and drinking, only having to touch up at the very end of the day.
L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow
These eyeshadows are highly affordable and highly pigmented, even without shadow primer! They have a velvety texture that is super easy to blend, and they don't crease. My favorite shade is Continuous Cocoa.
High quality, beautiful makeup doesn't always have to be high-end and expensive. There are many drugstore gems to choose from.
