The Best Pizza Places to Eat Out in San Diego

Published: June 24, 2014

In this article, I will explain the all the great places a person would want to go if they wanted a great pizza within the local area. There are so many different places that a person would want to go. Sometimes, you might just want a quick bite, such as a slice. Sometimes you might want a whole pizza, but don't want to spend a lot of money. Aren't we all on budgets these days? I know I am. Anyway, check out this article. Maybe you have heard of most, maybe not. I know these places because I have eaten there. Some of them I used to work at, so I know the "In's and Out". But don't take my word for it, TRY IT OUY for yourself!

  1. Oggi's Pizza

10155 Rancho Carmel Dr. San Diego, CA

    Oggi’s Santee voted

    in the Santee’s Favorites 2013!

This is the best place to get a pizza and a micro beer. The service is great. They have lots of TV, which is great to watch sports games and boxing matches. It can also be great for family gatherings. All types of food for the family, appetizers, pizza, salad, make your own burgers, and even stuff for vegetarians.

  2. Round Table Pizza

    (858) 487-4994

16761 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA

My favorite Round Table I go to is in Rancho Bernardo.

This place is great for families. They have two separate game rooms. My favorite is the one with an Air Hockey table...awesome! If you want to throw a party and have your own private room...Great news! They have one just for you and up to 30 people can fit comfortably. I used to work here at this location from 2001 - 2005. I had an excellent time working with my fellow co-workers and experiencing the atmosphere of great customer service, whether it was inside the restaurant or delivering the pizzas to a customers' home. I strongly suggest you try out their food. There is no other place like it. Pizza, Wings, Salad Bar, Beer/ Wine/ Soda, and more.

  3. Denali's Pizza

     (858) 513-6396

     13158 Poway Road • Poway, CA 92064

I truly enjoy this place when I don't feel like getting the traditional pizza from places like Domino's, Pizza Hut or Little Cesar's...just to save a buck or ten.

I enjoy this place because it is local and sometimes my friends and I want different things, such as one feels like a Cheeseburger, one feels like a salad, one wants a BBQ Chicken Pizza, and the other feel like a Carne Asada Burrito. This is your next best place to get all of that in one SWOOP! Why have to go out of the house to get those items at 3 or even 4 different places. I like a one stop shop.

I know what some of you are could one place have all that stuff and all it taste good. I don't know. They just MAKE IT HAPPEN. I've tried almost everything there. It's all exceptionally great and flavorful, but don't take my opinion for it...try it for yourself. I'm telling you...You will not be dissatisfied!

  4. Pazzo's

10299 Scripps Trail San Diego, CA 92131

This place would definitely be my number 1, except that it is a little far out of my way. But do you feel like a true Italian Dinner or just chill out at the bar. This is a family owned restaurant and has been around since the 1990's.

Excellent Place for all different types of home-made Italian cuisine, such as Lasagna, Spaghetti, pizza, breadsticks and more. There cheesy breadsticks are out of this world. WAIT...not impressed? I don't really like fish, but they have a Shrimp Scampi Pizza that my buddy loves. Don't like shrimp or fish, they have the normal too. Plus, they have beers and wines. I go there for the beer. The have great local brewers on tap and in the bottle, such as Green Flash and Ballast Point. Lots to choose from, so little time, so get down there and try it out for yourself.

  5. Wings 'N Things

    12075 Carmel Mountain Rd

    Suite 201

    San Diego California  92128

This is a great place to catch up on sports, grab a drink and eat some wings. How about

    Buffalo Chicken Pizza Sticks?

Thus, being my number 5. Like something a little different, well...then, check it out. They even have a bar seating area if you feel like ditching the family and grab a drink on the way home from a long day at the! I haven't had one bad complaint about this place. My friends and family love meeting up here to grab something quick to eat or drink. So get on down there and give it a try.

  6. Tomcat Bar & Grill

9388 Mira Mesa Blvd, Suite B
    San Diego, CA 92126

Did I say PIZZA? Sorry...I meant Wings. This place has the best place for wings that anyone could ask for. People drive from all over San Diego County to try their Wings. If you haven't tried it yet, then get on down there and give it a try! This place is a great local sports hangout, you can play pool or darts, or just grab a drink at their friendly bar.

  7. Woodstock

6145 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115

I'll tell you. If they had one of these down the street from me...I'd be broke. There pizza is beyond me. It can be a little greasy...depending on what you order. A great example of this would be their All Meat pizza....WOW! Greasy, but Delicious. I love to dip it in Ranch. Wicked Awesome! They have other things such as wings, breadsticks, salads, and drinks. This is a MUST TRY! But like I always say, don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!

  8. California Pizza Kitchen

    (858) 675-4424

Carmel Mountain Plaza, 11602 Carmel Mt. Rd., San Diego, CA 92128

Great Pizza and family restaurant. Catering, Gift Cards, Pizzas, Breadsticks, Wings, Drinks, and more. I can even special order my pizza with whatever I desire or they already have Specialty pizzas. Get your bite on with in store, caterings, or pick it up frozen at your local super market, such as Albertson's.

  9. O's Kitchen

    Phone: 858.592.0222 Carmel Mountain Ranch

12045 Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego CA 92128

Always love this story, so I copied it!

"O’s American Kitchen features hand-crafted menu items using fresh, quality ingredients that change the expectation of the traditional casual restaurant. Our American kitchen is influenced by local, regional and global flavors… with an O’s twist!" (Retrieved on June 23, 2014 at

There is always more. But I really enjoy their breadsticks. Come by to grab a chicken, pizza, salad, or just a bag of breadsticks. Always great in my book. For those of you who don't know O's Kitchen, the were formally known as Pat & Oscar's and before that just Oscar's. Excellent place to take yourself and/ or your whole family or friends. Bon A petit!

  10. Papa John's

12650 Sabre Springs Pkwy, San Diego, CA 92128

I am not personally into their sauce, but there BBQ Chicken pizza is awesome for a specialty pizza. Plus, they usually have great deals and/ or specials on their pies...I mean Pizza's. You can get wings, salad, drinks and more. Also, they are the also place I know that offers their very own Garlic Butter Sauce free with every pizza purchased.

As you can tell, I have been to all of these place, whether it was to dine or grab a drink. I have had my friends, family and business associates at all of these locations. They have all been very satisfied with every place. I hope to do more articles with this site in the near future. The next article I do will more than likely be on “The Best Burger in San Diego”. I can’t wait, but I must for now. Keep in mind, all of these places I have listed on here are strictly from my personal experience. Try it for yourself.
