10 Money Saving Uses of Vinegar

Household cleaning formulas can be very toxic and dangerous not only to ourselves but also our children and pets. Vinegar is an excellent tool to use because it is user-friendly and safe. There are so many ways in which vinegar can be used such as cooking and cleaning, but also suprisingly as polish and air freshener. It is the mother of all cleaning products because it is also cheap and very effective. Why use commercial cleaning products when you can so easily read this and learn the many advantages that vinegar has to offer. 

  1. Refresh Wilted Vegetables

    What do you do when you look in your fridge and all you see is vegetables that have been sitting in the fridge for to long? No, Don't throw it away! All you have to do is put the wilted vegetables in cold water and add one or two spoonfuls of vinegar. The vegetables can be saved as well as your money. 

  2. Renew Wash Rags and Sponges

    Sometimes towels get to the point where they start to look and feel really scruffy, even after washing them. But and easy and simple solution is  available. Just put the rags and sponges in a bowl, and add water until it covers the rags. Then just add one-fourth a cup of vinegar to the water and let the mixture sit overnight. By the next morning, the rags and sponges should be better than before. This will definitely save you money in the long run.

    One of the worst feelings is being trapped in a room with the smell of air fresheners. It is not only suffocating but also bad for our health breathing in all the chemicals from these sort of products. Who knows what types of things us and our families could be breathing in? Use Vinegar as a cleaner and healther deodorizer. Replace the air fresheners with a mixture of one teaspoon of baking soda, one table spoon of white-distilled vinegar, and one cup of water. Just spray the mixutre into the air of the room that you want to deodorize. It is a simple, clean, healthy, and money-saving way of maintaining the smell in your household. No longer will you have to pay for over priced air fresheners, and no longer will you have to breathe in the possibly dangerous chemicals from air fresheners. 

  4. Window Cleaner

    Most Commercial Window Cleaners carry a very strong smell that can be very irritating. If the smell is already irritating enough, imagine what must be happening to the insides of our bodies by using it. Replace these strong and irritatice window cleaners with this mixture of water and vinegar. Mix a quart of water with a few ounces of vinegar and you have got not only a next to odorless cleaning product, but also something that is safe, which can also be used as a car window cleaner to get rid of the fogginess that buids up after time. This mixture is very inexpensive, and will help save money.

  5. Flea Killer

    Flea inhibitors for our pets are expensive, but we love our pets, and would never want them to suffer from blood-thristy fleas so here is an easy and cost effective way of protecing the animals that we love. Just add a little bit of distilled vinegar to your pet's drinking water. It is safe and also helps us save money, without having to sacrifice the love that we have for our pets. 

  6. Tenderize meat

    There are many ways you can go about tenderizing meat but this is the simplest and also the easiset. Vinegar works miracles when it comes to tenderizing. Just add a little bit of vinegar to your marinade to tenderize the meat. If you want it to be extra tender, let the meat sit in the marinade and vinegar for two days. By the time you cook the meat, it will fall apart and melt in your mouth. 

  7. Protect Your Belongings from Cats

    Cats hate vinegar. If you have a cat who likes to chew on your couch and plants, or a cat who overmarks its territory, then just spray a little bit of distilled vinegar onto the item. You can even spray around it and the cat will no longer come near it. This is a safe deterrent to your straying cats, and also an easy way for you to save yourself hassle and money later before your shoes and such are destroyed. 

  8. Bring out the Bright Colors

    You do not have to spend a lot of money on expensive laundry detergeants to make sure that your clothes stay bright. Instead, add half a cup of distilled vinegar to the rinse cycle of your laundry. This will bring out the brightness in your colored clothing. It is such a great and simple as well as inexpensive way to keep your clothes looking great.

  9. Keep Lint Away

    Lint rollers are not expensive, but you will save money in the long run, and also save yourself the hassle it you follow this simple step. Just add half a cup of distilled vinegar to you laundry during the wash cycle and lint will no longer stick your clothes.
