The Best Colors for your Spring 2014 Wardrobe

Published: March 11, 2014

With winter slowly trying to dwindle away, spring is creeping up right behind it. So what colors can you look forward to, to revamp your wardrobe for the season? Take a glance at this look from the more noticeble color trends straight off the runway, from your classic black and whites to your pretty pinks.

  1. Black and White

No, the traditonal black and white combo will never grow old and out of date. But this season's current run way featured this timeless color combo in a revamped way. Black and white looks came from several designers including Derek Lam(featured below), Phillip Lim and BCBG. So be creative this spring and create some awesome sleek looks with your personal black and white pieces.

  2. Metallics

Shine bright in metallic pieces this Spring!! Although this color trend is more on the bold side of things don't be scared to try it (well at least in moderation). And for the truly bold try this color trend in a jumpsuit, or dress(I promise you won't look like a 70's disco reject). Featured below is a jumpsuit from Zero+Maria Cornejo.

  3. Pop of Pink

For those edgier looks for the upcoming spring season try a soft pink blazer to soften those looks and give your outfit a unexpected pop.  But these pinks can range from soft to a more brash pink the trick is just to add one piece such as a dark pink crop or blush tone pink pant and pair it with neutral tones as seen by Karen Walker below.

  4. White

The all white ensembles on this years Spring 2014 runway is one of my favorite color trends. All white looks seem to remain effortlessly chic time after time on the runway. A all white look can provide a fresh crisp look for you remain cool against the harsh sun. Try this color trend in cool sundresses or combine your favorite white seperates. Featured below is a beautiful piece from Cushnie et Ochs.

  5. Icy Pastels

The runway featured another cool color trend for those warm spring nights in icy pastels. Try out these muted colors in a satin or chiffon piece: violet, blush, blue and mint all in more muted tones. Pastels can always add a lighter air to your wardrobe and are not up there on the outrageous scale in color trends. Check out this dainty number from Marissa Webb below.

I know I mentioned that my favorite color trend above was the all white trend but all of these colors are absolutely fabulous and I will be purchasing some new pieces in these colors and you should do the same. Go bold with your metallics or be a timeless beauty with a classic black and white combo.
